Harper's Fabric and Quilt Company

This is one of the few shops that I have visited that you could actually say has it all. This shop in Overland Park, Kansas is located in the heart of downtown. Clothing fabric, quilting fabric, sewing machines, quilting machines, patterns, books, classes, and lots of samples are waiting for you.
Harper's opened in 1969. Elaine Johnson purchased the shop in 1994 and started selling Viking sewing machines in 1998. The shop also repairs all brands of sewing machines.
The shop has a wide variety of fabric to chose from which include Amy Bradley and Jo Morton designs. You will not only find quilting patterns but also fashion clothing patterns.
At the front of the store is the latest creation and latest fabrics that have just arrived. Original designers and artists help provide the constantly changing array of samples for you to see.
If classes are what you are looking for this is the right shop for you. One hundred and fifty new classes are offered each quarter. You will find classes both for beginners and for advanced quilters.
Something new will be starting at this shop. Cloth shopping bags will be available to purchase and return the next time you shop. When you return with your bag you will be given a chance to win a prize. Good to see a quilt shop that is green friendly. Elaine hopes to encourage new talent and inspire a new generation of quilters.
